Dijon Christmas markets 2026: confirmed dates, nearby towns and Fééries

🇫🇷 Lire cet article en français →

The Dijon Christmas markets and those in the surrounding metropolitan area start on the weekend of 21-22 November 2026. In Dijon itself, two events already have dates, on 12 and 13 December: the Big Christmas Market at Salle Devosge and the market of the Côte-d’Or département. However, dates for the city-centre chalets and the 2026 « Fééries de Noël » are still to come. Here is what is confirmed, what is still pending and our tips for planning your visit to the Burgundy capital.

Which Dijon Christmas markets are already confirmed?

Two Dijon Christmas markets already have firm dates for 2026, according to the local guide evous.fr, updated on 1 November. Both take place on the same weekend, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December. So you can easily visit both on the same day.

The Big Christmas Market at Salle Devosge

Run by SundayMarket, the Big Christmas Market brings together around forty makers at Salle Devosge, 5 rue Devosge. It opens from noon to 6pm on both days. Entry is free and the organisers offer light food on site. It is therefore a good place for handmade gifts.

The département market on Boulevard de la Trémouille

The market of the département (the French county-level authority, here Côte-d’Or) sets up at 23 boulevard de la Trémouille. It opens on Saturday from 10am to 9pm and on Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Entry is free. In addition, families can enjoy free workshops and activities.

What about markets around Dijon?

Several neighbouring towns open their markets earlier. First, Daix hosts Créarts at Salle des Glycines, 6 rue de Dijon, on 21 and 22 November, from 10am to 7pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. That same weekend, Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur holds the Ogive market, opening on Saturday at 10am.

Next, Fontaine-lès-Dijon plans its market at the Saint-Martin chapel on 28 and 29 November, with no hours published yet. Finally, Marsannay-la-Côte offers the GKoLab at GKoWork, 10 rue Louis-Lumière, on Sunday 29 November from 10am to 6pm. Hours may change, so check with each organiser.

When will the city-centre chalets open?

This is the big question for visitors. So far, the dates, hours and 2026 programme of the city-centre chalets have not been announced. Likewise, the city’s Fééries de Noël page still shows the previous edition. We will update this article as soon as official details appear.

For a rough idea, here is what the last edition offered. In late 2025, the city switched on its lights on 29 November on Place de la Libération, and the Fééries ran until 4 January 2026. A market filled Place Darcy and rue de la Liberté, and a 600 m² temporary ice rink stood on Place de la République. However, there is no guarantee that 2026 will follow the same pattern.

What to do in Dijon over the festive season

The markets are only part of the trip. The historic centre is easy to walk, from Place de la Libération to the Notre-Dame church. The Palace of the Dukes and the Fine Arts Museum, home to the tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy, are also worth a visit. Moreover, the Côte de Nuits vineyards and Beaune are less than an hour away.

First, choose the weekend of 12-13 December if you want to see both confirmed markets in Dijon. Then come by tram or on foot, as parking in the centre is difficult at this time of year. Finally, check the tourist office, Destination Dijon, before you go for the final programme.
