The Toulouse Christmas market opens on Thursday 26 November 2026 on Place du Capitole and closes on Sunday 27 December. According to the Toulouse tourist office, more than a hundred stallholders will trade from traditional white chalets. Three smaller markets complete the offer in the city centre. Opening hours have not yet been published. Here are the dates, locations and attractions announced so far.
When does the Toulouse Christmas market open in 2026?
The main market on Place du Capitole, the square in front of the city hall, runs from 26 November to 27 December 2026. This information comes from the Toulouse tourist office website, checked on 30 October. In France, a tourist office (office de tourisme) is the official visitor information service run by the local authority.
However, opening hours are still listed as “awaiting times” for every market. So it is wise to check before you travel, especially for evening visits and on 24 December.
Toulouse is part of a busy national calendar. Our guide to French Christmas market dates city by city lets you compare it with other major cities.

How many markets are there, and where?
Four separate markets will open in central Toulouse. They are all close together, so you can easily visit them on foot in a single day.
Place du Capitole: the main market
This is the heart of the festivities. According to the tourist office, more than a hundred stallholders will set up in white chalets. In addition, a 250 m² ice rink will stand on the square.
Square Charles-de-Gaulle: the Christmas village
This small park behind the Capitole hosts about a dozen decorated chalets. Four of them are set aside for young designers and craftspeople. It follows the same dates as the main market.
Allées Jean-Jaurès and Allées Jules-Guesde
On Allées Jean-Jaurès, a wide avenue locals call the Ramblas, a designers’ market includes two food chalets. It also follows the Capitole dates. Finally, the craft and charity market on Allées Jules-Guesde runs for a shorter period, from Saturday 28 November to Wednesday 23 December 2026.

What is on at the Toulouse Christmas market?
Several attractions have already been announced. Most of them are aimed at families during weekends and school holidays.
- Father Christmas’s house, with photos on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays until 24 December;
- a 250 m² ice rink on Place du Capitole;
- a Christmas-tree carousel on Rue d’Alsace-Lorraine, with a view over the market;
- activities for all ages in Square Charles-de-Gaulle.
Prices for the ice rink, the carousel and the photos have not yet been released. Also bear in mind that French school Christmas holidays start on Saturday 19 December, so the last week before Christmas is likely to be the busiest.

How to plan your visit
The market sits right in the city centre, where traffic and parking are difficult in December. It is therefore best to use public transport. You will also save time looking for a parking space.
For up-to-date information, the Toulouse tourist office welcomes visitors in the Donjon du Capitole, on Square Charles-de-Gaulle. It also points to the dedicated website marchedenoeltoulouse.fr for the full programme.

Why the market matters for local tourism businesses
For shops, hotels and restaurants in the centre, December is a key month. A five-week market draws visitors from across the region. Tourism businesses can showcase their offer on the town’s page in the Info Communes app, shown below.
